Patch Potholes Across the Country

Under the leadership of President Nana Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, the government has taken swift action to address the pervasive issue of potholes by allocating an impressive GH¢ 150 million to contractors. This significant funding injection will ensure that roads across the country are swiftly repaired, providing much-needed relief to motorists and improving overall road safety. This proactive approach demonstrates President Akuffo-Addo’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and prioritizing the welfare of citizens.

On Thursday, February 15, an official statement was released by the Ministry of Roads and Highways, signed by the esteemed Head of the Public Relations Unit, Nasir Ahmad Yartey. The announcement detailed that the substantial sum of GH¢ 150 million had been allocated as part of the first quarter disbursements from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Roads and Highways. This strategic move underscores the government’s unwavering dedication to addressing critical infrastructure needs and actively investing in the maintenance and improvement of road networks nationwide.

As per the statement, this intervention will enable the Highways Authority and the Department of Urban Roads to capitalize on the dry season and carry out necessary routine maintenance activities, particularly filling potholes on key roads that were significantly damaged during the heavy rains of 2013. This proactive approach speaks to the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the transportation infrastructure, as well as its readiness to address long-standing issues that have been exacerbated by previous weather conditions.
